I work with all women of color (18 & older) on an individual basis to gain the skills and insight they need in order to live their ideal lives. I provide a unique perspective for Afro-Caribbean and Black American women due to being brought up in both worlds. I help adult women overcome their struggles with

Therapy Processing & Skill-Based Groups
When women of color come together as a group is when the magic happens!
Committing to improving and maintaining our own wellness means committing to embracing discomfort, doing something different, giving consistent effort, and always looking within. It seems uncomfortable at first to sit next to strangers and discuss your concerns openly. However, there is strength and growth in numbers. With group therapy, my goal is to eliminate these unhealthy narratives we tend to create based on past conditioning that says we should feel ashamed to share our problems with others. I intend to provide a safe space in which you can instead relate to others dealing with similar concerns, find and give emotional support, learn, and continue to grow.
At Humble Reflections Counseling, groups are designed with you in mind. The topics are chosen intentionally, and the groups are geared toward breaking the stigma around therapy in the black community as well as bringing great individuals like you together to find strength in community and support.
Disclaimer: Group therapy is not, and should not be used as, a substitute for professional psychotherapy services. It can and may be used as a helpful tool to aid you along your wellness journey. In fact, it is recommended for use in conjunction with psychotherapy and/or alternative forms of holistic treatment.

Meditation

Meditation is a skill that is learned by training the mind to become more aware. It incorporates the art of mindfulness by allowing one to just be in the present moment. Therefore, it is not necessary to change who you are or to already have your mind clear in order to practice meditation. On the contrary, by practicing meditation over time you invite clarity, calm, and serenity into the mind along with an elevated sense of awareness, focus, and concentration.
Meditation is often used as a tool in psychotherapy to help clients achieve a state of relaxation and/or grounding. It is beneficial for relieving worry, fear, anxiety, panic attacks, stress, lack of focus, insomnia, and many other issues.
